Polymer lithium battery is a kind of battery which USES polymer as electrode and electrolyte material. It has many different types of polymer battery according to different materials used for anode and cathode of battery.

Lithium polymer batteries have a higher energy density, can be small and thin, lightweight, high safety and low cost, lithium polymer batteries in its structure at least one or more use polymer materials as the main battery system.

In terms of shape, lithium polymer battery has many advantages, such as thin shape, arbitrary area and arbitrary shape. First, the cathode material carbon, not only has a wide range of sources, but also can make the battery get high-speed discharge effect. Secondly, lithium ion is embedded in carbon to solve the problem that lithium ion battery is not safe. Third, the comprehensive performance is good, the charging speed is fast.

The polymer battery USES colloidal electrolyte and has stable discharge characteristics and higher discharge platform. And has the high power bearing capacity, even if the high power charge and discharge, high frequency use, can quickly complete the charging process, completely no memory effect, the battery charge and discharge efficiency is 99.8% charge retention ability, the monthly charge retention rate is more than 95%. With the best internal consistency, ensure the consistency of each "charge and discharge" process, ensure the longest overall life of the battery.

Polymer lithium batteries in the structure of the use of aluminum and plastic flexible packaging, once the occurrence of safety hazards, polymer cells will only bulge.

Polymer lithium battery charging:

At present, the charging method of polymer lithium battery generally adopts constant current and constant voltage charging: the battery is charged with constant current at first, and when the battery voltage rises to a certain value (4.2v), the voltage remains unchanged CV, and the current in the circuit drops to a small level, and eventually tends to 0.

Electrochemical principle of polymer lithium battery:

Polymer lithium ion battery refers to the secondary battery with positive and negative electrode of Li+ embedded compound. Lithium compounds LiCoO2, LiNiO2 or LiMn2O4 are used for the positive electrode, and LixC6 is used for the negative electrode. The typical battery system is:

Positive reaction: LiCoO2=Li1-xCoO2+ xl +xe-

Negative reaction: 6C+ xl ++xe-=LixC6

Total battery reaction: LiCoO2+6C= li1-xcoo2 +LixC6

The harm of polymer lithium battery overcharge

Polymer lithium batteries cannot be overcharged. If overcharging has a great impact on the performance of the battery, lithium metal deposition will occur in the negative electrode, and the solvent in the electrolyte will decompose, resulting in serious damage to the battery performance. It could even cause batteries to explode or catch fire,

Choice of charging voltage of polymer lithium battery:

At present, the electrochemical window of positive electrode material, negative electrode material and electrolyte used in commercial lithium batteries is basically above 4.5v, that is to say, when the battery charging voltage reaches 4.5v, the battery is relatively stable. However, if the battery charging voltage is too low (such as less than 4.15v), it will seriously affect the battery charging amount. For example, if the battery charging voltage is controlled at 4.13v, the battery charging amount is about 60-80% of the battery capacity, greatly affecting the performance of the battery.

In fact, the battery charging voltage and battery system, and the battery discharge rate has no relationship.

Usage note:

1. Sharp parts are forbidden to collide with batteries;

It is forbidden to transport or store batteries together with metal objects.

3. Do not abandon, fall, impact or bend batteries. Do not hit or trample on batteries with hammers.

4. It is forbidden to connect the positive and negative electrodes of the battery directly with metal objects such as wires;

5. It is forbidden to short-circuit the positive or negative electrode of the battery and the aluminum layer of the outer packaging aluminum-plastic film material of the cell;

6. Do not remove the cell under any circumstances;

7. Do not invade the battery into the water or seawater. The cell cannot be affected by moisture.

8. Do not use or place batteries near heat sources (such as water or heater);

9. Do not heat the battery or throw it into water.

X. direct welding of batteries is prohibited;

Do not charge the battery near the fire or in a hot place.

12. Do not put the battery into microwave oven or high pressure container.

13, prohibit in high temperature (such as strong sunlight or very hot car) long-term use or placement of batteries, otherwise it will cause battery overheating, fire or function decline, life reduction;

14. In case of electrolyte leakage and contact with skin or other parts, rinse immediately with clean water; in case of electrolyte contact with eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical advice nearby;

15. Do not use damaged batteries. If electrolyte leaks or emits electrolyte odor, keep away from fire source to avoid battery fire or explosion.
